Sophie, best known as “Laughing with Lizzie,” is a 29-year-old author and Jane Austen specialist. Her passion for Austen began in school, leading her to start a blog at 16. Now, with 170k+ followers worldwide, she shares her love of Regency life through social media, hosting events such as her ‘Balls for all Seasons’ and annual Jane Austen Festival Ball, and other collaborations.
She has appeared in the BBC documentary My Friend Jane (2017) and authored Be More Jane (2019), Be Your Own Heroine (2020) and The Ultimate Jane Austen Quiz Book (2025). Sophie has worked with Netflix, advises on Austen-related film, frequently gives talks and reviews theatre productions.
Sophie will be joining us to give a little insight into life for Regency ladies, with guidance on how to dress to allure a gentleman.
