West Dean College

Your class at beautiful West Dean College, a short drive from Goodwood, will be spent primarily focusing on playing with colour.

The designs offered will reflect the historic and eccentric nature of the College – but you breath life into the work to by choosing a ‘story’ and working with hue, tone and saturation.

West Dean College is a World renowned School of Conservation and Arts. It was originally a family home but transformed by collector and patron of the Arts, Edward James, in 1971.

Set in the soft rolling hills of the South Downs and featuring landscaped gardens as well as a comprehensive kitchen garden, West Dean is the perfect place for learning and inspiration.

Edward James had a passion for the Surrealist movement and works by Dali and Magritte as well as a wealth of other artworks, books and historic artifacts are displayed throughout the building.

We will run our class in the historic library and there will be an optional tour of the College and the grounds as well as lunch and refreshments.
